Simple Maintenance Checklist for Vending Machines
Posted on Jul 4, 2014
Critical parts of your vending machine will need to be kept clean to avoid operation problems. A few minutes of cleaning on a regular basis is all it takes to ensure trouble free operation.
A cleaning routine will assist avoiding some common problems which can cause downtime and revenue loss;
- jammed coins,
- coins directed to the wrong tubes,
- incorrect or no change,
- notes being rejected,
- drinks not cold enough.
If you want the best performance from your vending machine then you should regularly clean these three critical components;
- coin mechanism
- note acceptor
- condenser
Coin Mechanism Cleaning
The coin mechanism sensors can become dirty over time. Jammed coins or coins being directed to the wrong tube is an indication that the sensors need cleaning.
Worldwide Vending recommend that sensors be cleaned every second time the coin mechanism is filled. This is easily accomplished using everyday glass cleaner and a soft cloth. The cleaning process is simple and takes only a few minutes.
The video below has been produced to provide you with the information required to clean the coin mechanism sensors on a Sorrento vending machine.
Note Acceptor Cleaning
As with the coin mechanism, it's good practice to clean the sensors on the note acceptor at least every second fill. Again, glass cleaner and a soft cloth are recommended for this cleaning.
The video below will show you how to clean the vending machine note acceptor fitted to your Sorrento vending machine.
Condenser Cleaning
It is very important to keep the condenser of your vending machine clean and free of dust. This will enable your machine to run at its maximum efficiency. If the drinks in the machine are not as cold as they should be it is a sign that the condenser may need cleaning.
Worldwide Vending recommend that condensers be cleaned at least every two (2) months if positioned on carpet, or every four (4) months if it is positioned on tiles or concrete. All that is required to clean the condenser is a household dustpan and brush.
Cleaning the condenser is the hardest part of your routine maintenance, but even that is relatively easy to do. The video below will show you how to clean the condenser on a Sorrento vending machine. Note that there are 8 screws in total. Don't forget the one hiding behind the cable.
